4moms has transformed the baby gear industry by creating innovative products, which leverage the latest technology and human-centered design. Based in Pittsburgh, 4moms was founded in 2005 with a vision to help make parents’ lives easier. Over the years, the brand has delivered on this promise with countless products that make everyday parenting easier for families around the country. 4moms approached Zehner in late 2019 to redesign and re-platform their eCommerce experience to Shopify Plus.

Delivering eCommerce That’s As Intuitive as 4moms’ Products

The Solution

Our focus for the site was to effectively showcase the brand’s innovative product offering to new and returning users. In addition to creating a modular design system that would empower the 4moms internal team to easily merchandise the site with brand storytelling and product information.

Overall, the site’s modern design effectively conveys the high-tech feel of the products. There are also moments of warmth throughout the site including the smiling faces in the lifestyle photography, the rounded UI elements, and the simple typography. This balance speaks to the brand’s product philosophy of innovation at the intersection of technology and human-centered design. Our team also improved the site’s navigation and way-finding to guide users through the product consideration journey.

Featuring Dynamic Content + Animations

The eCommerce experience features animated content to bring movement and personality to the screen. Specifically, the product detail page for the mamaRoo4 shows the various way the seat can move from car ride to kangaroo to tree swing. This content conveys one of the key selling points for the infant seat - that the natural movement replicates the fluid motions parents use to soothe their babies. Animated content was also used to convey key features for the product, including Bluetooth enabled, built-in sounds, and adjustable recline.

4moms Care Program

The 4moms Care program brings a positive impact on the lives of children and families in need through product donations, hospital discounts, and supporting local communities. To date, the brand has donated over $1.5 million in 4mom products, partnered with 375 hospitals, and volunteered 487 hours. This mission-driven storytelling was included throughout the site to inspire the user and showcase the incredible work the 4moms’ team has done.

Modular Design System

Zehner delivered a modular design system that allows the brand to easily update the site with the latest content. Ultimately, we designed and built an eCommerce experience that empowers the brand to easily scale and allow its internal team to focus on the creative and content rather than custom development.
