This year, Google cemented its presence here, a huge national law firm, Cooley, opened an LA office to capitalize on the Silicon Beach startup community and Silicon Valley investor Chris Sacca hired a full-time director in LA to make investments in local startups. And with VCs investing close to $2 billion in local startups, the development of Silicon Beach has to be one of the biggest business stories of the year.
