Zehner's Community Collaboration Program
+ Safe Place for Youth’s Annual Gala

Zehner is proud to announce the launch of our Community Collaboration Program because we decided it was time to start giving back. The program’s main objective is to provide creative services to the community organizations that do so much for Los Angeles. In fact, we’ve already completed our first collaboration for the Safe Place for Youth’s Annual Gala!

In 2011, Safe Place for Youth, otherwise known as SPY, was started by a group of dedicated volunteers and founder Alison Hurst. Their plan was simple - offer hot food, clothing and socks to homeless youth in Venice Beach from their cars. But it’s true what they say - from little things big things grow.

In April 2015, SPY were able to expand their programs and move into their official Los Angeles residence in Venice beach. This enabled them to more effectively address youth needs and partner with local speciality service providers - like Zehner.

'The reality is that the numbers of homeless youth have increased to epidemic proportions, which means we must respond to the crisis by continuing to grow our programs and maintaining our leadership role with coalition groups working to end youth homelessness.'

SPY’s mission is to, “inspire, nurture, and empower the resilient human spirit of homeless youth by providing immediate and lasting solutions, one young person at a time.” So it’s only fitting that the theme of this year’s gala is Heroes.

“At Zehner, we’re able to do a lot of great work to help build and develop businesses. But with this new initiative we got the opportunity to give back and help build community and support worthwhile causes” - Mick McCarthy, Creative Director at ZG.
